Pride and Black Lives Matter Pasco
Host Roadside Cleanup 10/25/2020
New Port Richey, FL
Pasco Pride and BLM Pasco will be hosting a roadside
cleanup on a stretch of Moon Lake Road that was previously adopted
by the White Nights of the Klu Klux Klan.
We will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020
at the Sunoco at 9550 Moon Lake Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654
and clean up our on-mile stretch until 10 a.m.
This stretch of road is particularly important to us because
in 1993 it was "adopted" by the KKK. In 2018, Pasco Pride, led
by a Black lesbian CEO, “adopted” the road through the county
program. We are partnering with Black Lives Matter to celebrate
how far our community has come, and raise awareness for how
much further we have to go.
We will provide gloves, granola bars, water, high vis vests
and Gatorade for all volunteers. We will be outside for the
entire event and take seriously the practice of social distancing.
We will also be selling our purple Pasco Pride shirts for $20
each, which you can pay for and pick up the day of! Cash or
card will be accepted. Sizes S-3XL available.
