This earthy comedy, set in a small town brothel, dives beneath the decadent surface of prostitution and showcases the relationships between its sex workers-humanizing them beyond their profession.

Lily has just arrived, having left her newborn baby with a friend back home, she is determined to earn enough money to pay her debts and make it as a single mother. She enters the monthly competition to be Number One Girl and becomes the month's leading contender, until her drive causes a major rift between her and the girls.

What makes us working girls, and when do we just become whores?

The Early Girl asks you to look beyond the glitz and glamor of the sex industry and take a look at the souls inside.

Downstairs Lady Theater Productions
Downstairs Lady Theater Productions is a production company that seeks to empower women in the Theater Community through art and expression.

Right now we plan to produce at least one show a year, focusing on festivals, and eventually moving into producing original works and giving the ever-growing female playwright base another outlet to share their works through.

Ultimately we realize that while our plans eventually involve world domination, for now we are fine with seeing more women achieving their goals in the performance world - be it through staging their dream show, directing, writing, or just producing shows with a strong female cast.
