Because You Matter.
Black Lives Matter. Indigenous lives matter. People of color matter.

From its founding, TIGLFF has been about community - A place to join our friends and watch movies in which we are represented . We set out “to showcase a selection of compelling film and video by, for or about the LGBTQ+ community that Entertains, Empowers, and Enlightens the festival audience.” With our programming over the years, we have striven to present a cinematic picture of our lives, of our longings, and of our hopes. Now, we are intentionally recommitting to the parts of our mission to enlighten and empower. To be a part of the solution that lifts up the LGBTQ+ BIPOC community and amplifies their stories and voices. We encourage our viewers to listen and learn with open minds and without defenses.

Art, by nature, should promote and encourage conversation, illuminate what is right and what is wrong, and spur us forward to a more enlightened view of the world and its inhabitants. Only then can we begin to foster the change, inclusion, and respect that the BIPOC community deserves.

Gossamer Folds
In 1986, ten-year-old Tate is uprooted and unwillingly moved to the suburbs of Kansas City. As his parent's marriage unravels, Tate finds solace in the unlikely friendships of his next-door neighbors: a retired college professor and his transgender daughter, Gossamer.
Mixed Up

Part testimonial/part confessional. What are the lines between the facts of who I am and the fiction of what I can become? Mixed? is a reclaimed book of genesis: a manifesto that collides the wildly diverse elements of being queer, mixed and different in a world socialized around the construction of race, gender and orientation. Mixed? follows Howard J Davis aka Haui in his feature film directing debut, as he combats the isolation of being BIPOC and LGTBQ+ and helps to normalize the existence of being “other”.
My Name Is
Pauli Murray

A look at the life and ideas of Pauli Murray, a non-binary Black lawyer, activist and poet who influenced both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Thurgood Marshall.
Summertime
Over the course of a hot summer day in Los Angeles, the lives of 25 young Angelinos intersect. A skating guitarist, a tagger, two wannabe rappers, an exasperated fast-food worker, a limo driver—they all weave in and out of each other’s stories. Through poetry they express life, love, heartache, family, home, and fear. One of them just wants to find someplace that still serves good cheeseburgers.

We, the Board and Staff, want to learn and be challenged to be a part of the positive change. We are so excited to launch this festival as we work to support and uplift the experiences of BIPOC LGBTQ+ lives. We present Queer In Color as a celebration, alongside Juneteenth -- also known as Freedom Day, with the hopes that these stories can help educate others as we work together to end systemic racism.
