With over 45,000 monthly visitors and a large Social Media presence, we provide a trusted space where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies can stay informed, celebrate, and find meaningful connections.

Founded by Dave Borman, Tampa Bay Gay was built on the mission to inform, connect, and celebrate. What began as a local directory has grown into a recognized digital hub, amplifying LGBTQ+ voices, supporting small businesses, and highlighting nonprofit initiatives. Today, we're expanding into multimedia storytelling-bringing video, podcasts, and digital features to reach a global audience.

About the Founder: Dave Borman


Dave Borman, founder and owner of Tampa Bay Gay & LGBTQ Plus Media, has been a dedicated advocate and storyteller for the LGBTQ+ community for more than two decades. With a background in media, communications, and grassroots organizing, Dave saw a need in 2001 for a platform that would unite and uplift Tampa Bay's LGBTQ+ residents and visitors.

Under his leadership, Tampa Bay Gay has grown from a simple community resource to an award-winning, trusted media platform. Dave's vision has always centered on authenticity, community, and inclusivity - ensuring that the stories, voices, and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals are reflected and celebrated.

Beyond his work with the website, Dave is deeply engaged in the Tampa Bay community, supporting Pride events, local nonprofits, and businesses that champion equality. His leadership continues to drive the site's mission to expand beyond Tampa Bay, connecting local stories to a broader stage and ensuring that Tampa Bay Gay remains a vital, evolving resource for years to come.
